Brandy Strother, Executive Director

“Life isn't always sweet. But there is sweetness to be found here, too.”

Brandy Strother is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Healing Solutions, where she wears many hats... combining leadership, clinical expertise, supervision, and compassionate care in her work with both the practice and the clients it serves. Since co-founding Healing Solutions, Brandy has remained actively involved in the growth and direction of the practice, with a particular passion for supporting clinicians and creating an environment where both therapists and clients can thrive. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor, she provides supervision and mentorship to LMFT-As and LPC-As while also maintaining an active caseload.

Brandy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina and her Master’s degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling from Webster University. After spending a decade working in public and private mental health settings, she co-founded Healing Solutions in 2015.

With a passion for helping those impacted by trauma, Brandy specializes in trauma-related disorders and is on the MUSC Project BEST roster for Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She is also an Advanced & Enhanced Certified Accelerated Resolution Therapist (ART) and utilizes evidence based approaches including CBT, ART, Client Centered Therapy, and Solution Focused techniques. Brandy has worked extensively with adolescents, college students, and adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, life transitions, school, work and family stress, and trauma.

Brandy has a genuine love of learning and believes that what we learn becomes even more valuable when we share it with others. Whether in the therapy room or the supervision space, she enjoys bringing new knowledge, clinical insight, and practical tools into her work and helping others find ways to make them their own. That curiosity continues to shape her growth as both a clinician and supervisor.

At the heart of Brandy’s work is relationship. Whether she is sitting with a client, supporting a supervisee, or leading within the practice, she wants people to feel heard, understood, and that she is genuinely joining with them in the work. She believes meaningful growth happens within relationships where people feel safe enough to be honest, challenged when needed, and supported as they find their way forward. Brandy strives to create that kind of space for both clients and clinicians... one rooted in connection, trust, and the belief that people do their best work when they know they do not have to do it alone.

Outside of work, Brandy has grown increasingly fond of a slower, more intentional way of living... even if her calendar does not always seem to share that commitment. At the center of it all is her family. She treasures time with her husband, their girls, and their dogs, and loves the ordinary moments that come with building a life and blending a family together. She loves showing up for the girls and the things that matter to them, making memories together, and finding those rare unhurried evenings at home. Her Christian faith is central to who she is, and she is grateful to be actively involved in a church community where she can worship, serve, and grow alongside others.

Of course, Brandy’s appreciation for slowing down has done very little to cure her travel bug. She loves to travel, and checks hikes, adventures and bucket list destinations off her list whenever she gets the chance. These days, she is happily showing her husband the traveling ropes as the travel bug appears to be catching, and she loves that travel and adventure are becoming something their family can experience together. For Brandy, some of the best adventures are the ones that offer a little perspective: standing somewhere vast and beautiful, feeling wonderfully small, and being reminded just how much there is beyond the familiar.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, there is almost always coffee. Brandy loves discovering new coffee shops wherever she goes, trying new restaurants, Broadway shows with friends, and all things plants... little joys that make life even sweeter.

Across the different spaces of her life, Brandy leads with relationship... making sure the people around her know that they matter, feel heard, and know she is willing to meet them where they are and walk alongside them. It is simply part of how she shows up with people, and the therapy room is no different. There, those same values create space for connection, healing, and growth.
